After Mahesh Babu commented Bollywood can't afford him, Dalip Tahil stood in his support.

Veteran actor Dalip Tahil is seen as an antagonist in his latest Netflix film Toolsidas Junior. Recently Mr. Tahil supported Mahesh Babu for his comment “Bollywood can’t support me” Lately, the Telugu star stated that he gets a lot of offers from Bollywood but said, “I think they can’t afford me”. In his support, Dalip Tahil justified his comment by referring to work ethics.

Dalip tweeted: “In my humble opinion, when @urstrulyMahesh (south megastar) says Hindi movies cannot afford him, he is most likely referring to the work ethic, where I completely agree with him.. more strength to Mahesh Babu.”

In his opinion, as compared to the Hindi film industry, South Indian film industry is far more organized. Dalip Tahil agreeing with the Telugu star said: “Mahesh Babu is a megastar! When a superstar like him supposedly says that Hindi movies can’t afford me, he is right. Yes, Bollywood can’t afford him. It is not just the money, there is also work ethics involved. He is a superstar; he has control over his projects. His projects revolve around him. Today, he has a pan-India appeal.”

Talking about differences in work ethics Dalip elaborated his comment, “What I meant by work ethics, I still stand by it. When Mahesh Babu said ‘Hindi films can’t afford me’, maybe partly he meant the remuneration, but it had a lot to do with (something else as well)….You must understand, Mahesh Babu is a huge star across the country, not just the Telugu film industry. He is a pan-India, mega star. You must understand, when he comes to a place where he is not absolutely in control, and in complete understanding of the functioning of the project, it is going to be very difficult for him.”

Dalip Tahil furthermore shared his experience of Toolsidar Junior which also features Rajiv Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Varun Buddhadev in major roles. Toolsidar Junior was released on Netflix on Monday, 23rd May 2022. The sports drama film produced by Ashutosh Gowarikar is based on a true story. Dalip revealed it was a great experience to work with his old friend Rajiv Kapoor and Varun Buddhadev.

Talking about Toolsidas Junior Dalip said: “When Ashu (Ashutosh Gowarikar) told me that the film is a sports story but not cricket, it got me intrigued. Then, when Mridul Mahendra (director) narrated the story to me, he told me that it was a true story based on his own experiences.”
