The dusky and stunning Bollywood actress after Shah Rukh’s daughter Suhana opened up about colourism, during her recent interview, Chitrangda spills about losing modelling assignments due to skin color.

Elucidating on the same Chitrangda during her recent interview with a leading Indian entertainment tabloid told, “I did lose out on modelling assignments. In fact, when I lost out on one ad in the initial days of my career, I was specifically told the reason as it had come down to selecting between two people for the part. Luckily, the audition that I did for a product was seen by Gulzar saab, who got me on board for his music video. I realised that not everybody goes out looking for white-skinned people here”.

Furthermore, she also opened up in details about the racial bias that she had to face whilst growing up and quipped, “I know the feeling of living life as a girl with dusky complexion. This is not something that people will say directly to your face. You can only sense it. I have been through the biases, especially while growing up in the north”.

On the work front, Chitrangda was last seen in a cameo role appearance in the hit and critically acclaimed film Ghoomketu (2020), where she had earlier shared two black and white pictures of herself sporting vintage inspired hairstyle and makeup, where Chitrangda essays the character of a typical Bollywood heroine shooting a song.

This film has been directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra which tells the story of a budding novice writer played by Serious Men movie (Netflix, 2020) fame ace star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who in the film is shown as a struggler fighting to make it big in glamorous Bollywood film industry in Mumbai.
