Brahmastra: Vivek Agnihotri Says Ayan Mukerji Can’t Even Pronounce His Film

The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri takes a jibe at Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji and filmmaker Karan Johar.

Ayan Mukerji’s directorial Brahmastra is currently one of the most-awaited and much-anticipated films in the Hindi industry. While recently, The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri took a dig at Ayan Mukerji and said that he can’t even pronounce the name of his own film.

In a recent interview with Kushal Mehra, The Kashmir Files director, Vivek Agnihotri said, “Brahmastra, do they even know the meaning of that? And then they are talking about Astra Verse, what is even that? Then you put your director, who can’t even pronounce Brahmastra. He is a wonderful director. I loved his Wake Up Sid and the second film and I wish he made a wonderful film. I am concerned about him like a mother is concerned about their children. I am very disappointed. So these are the problems.”

Apart from Ayan Mukerji, Vivek also took a jab at Karan Johar for making fun of the LGBTQ community, he said, “They talk about LGBTQ activism but they themselves make fun of it. Why do Karan’s films often make fun of the LGBTQ community? Why? And they talk about activism.”

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is known among the audience for his film ‘The Kashmir Files’. The film is based on the killings and exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the valley in the 1990s. Starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar. The film became one of the first Bollywood films to cross the ₹300-crore barrier during the pandemic.
