Amid the nationwide lockdown because of the novel coronavirus the Bollywood industry has come to a standstill. The shooting of many big ventures has either been postponed or canceled pertaining to the current scenario in the nation. The entertainment industry is suffering huge losses as the shooting sets have been abandoned with no future date of return.

Meanwhile, Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra has been in the making for the longest time. Sadly the film starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan has also gotten adversely affected by the nationwide lockdown. After several delays in fixing the release date for the film, the sources reveal that the release might get further pushed once again due to the global pandemic.

There a many reports that state that the current crisis has escalated the already huge budget of the film and now it is out of control. The sources close to the development have revealed that given to the current context, the actors in the film have agreed to bear a pay cut.

It was in the start of February that team Brahmastra announced that the film will be releasing on December 4, 2020. However, the current situation makes the release of the film on the scheduled date seem impossible. Reports now suggest that Dharma Productions is trying to curb the losses that have been incurred in the span of the lockdown period but the budget is going out of hand.

The sources spilled the beans and said that about more than 40-days of the shoot is still remaining and given to the lockdown being extended it hints that the shoot will not start anytime soon. As the movie relies on VFX, a major chunk of it is still pending. The VFX also includes some scenes shot with Shah Rukh Khan at a studio in Mumbai, and the plot of the same unfolds in Manali and Varanasi.

The source opened up how Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have willingly agreed to make the project work by taking a pay cut. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the film also stars Mouni Roy, and South sensation Nagarjuna in pivotal roles.

The film is said to be a fantasy drama and the marketers have promised a product that has never been seen before.
