Adipurush: On 2nd October the makers of Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush unvieled the teaser and the first poster of their film in Ayodhya. However, just a few hours after the release of the much-anticipated teaser the netizens began criticizing the film for Saif Ali Khan’s Islamic look and unconvincing VFX. Netizens Start Boycott Trend Against Prabhas Starrer Adipurush
Om Raut’s film Adipurush has remained one of the much-anticipated films for many reasons, the fans had high hopes for Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan starrer Adipurush which is based on the epic Hindi mythology Ramayana. The makers recently organized a big event in Ayodhya to launch the Adipurush teaser. Director Om Raut along with actors Prabhas and Kriti Sanon reached Lord Ram’s birth city to seek his blessings and launch the film’s teaser.
However, the Adipurush teaser has turned out to be a big “disappointment” for many fans. Following the same, the netizens recently started a #disappointing trend against the film on Twitter. After facing the backlash, the film has now become a target of the “Boycott” trend as well. While it is believed that the reason behind the boycott trend against the film is due to the unconvincing VFX and Saif Ali Khan’s Islamic look in the film. Take a look-
Sharing the boycott trend against the film a user tweeted, “Bollywood imported a mughlai Taimuri tadka from Talibanis, for the role of lankesh in Adipurush…… I am confused, whether to laugh or cry about the creativity of Bollywood jokers……” another user tweeted, “It is nothing but mocking the great mythological epic Srimad Ramayana that the crores of Hindus believe and worship as their spiritual guide”.
While apart from Saif Ali Khan’s look as Ravana, the netizens have also claimed that Hanuman’s look in the film also has similarities with the Islamic religion, commenting on the same a user tweeted, “Bollywood’s Hanuman Looks Like A Musalman” another tweeted, “After 35 years, gutar bollywood converted the ‘gracefulness’ of arrogant Ravan and hanuman ji into Mughals. ..”.

Adipurush is directed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series Films. It has been shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu languages. The film stars Baahubali actor Prabhas with Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. Made on a budget of Rs 500 crore, Adipurush is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. It is scheduled to release in theatres on 12 Jan 2023.
