Boman Irani is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Uunchai. He will feature in the film alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Anupam Kher. The trio will share a lifetime friendship bond in the film which brings them together for a trek to the mountains. Irani spoke about his experience of working on Uunchai with mega star cast and director Sooraj Barjatya.
Uunchai unravels the story of three elderly friends and their emotional and adventurous trip. Irani will play Javed Siddiqui a friend of Amitabh Bachchan and Anupam Kher in Rajshri Films. Earlier, unveiling his character poster from the film, Irani said Uunchai is a big piece of his heart.
In a recent media interaction, he said, “`Uunchai` has been probably the most fulfilling film experience of my entire career. It was a dream cast to work with and the director is one of the kindest, most humble people you could ever hope to meet. The journey of these three friends, everything they experience, including their love, relationships, and especially their friendship is depicted in the movie as a spiritual experience.”
Talking about the ensemble cast including Parineeti Chopra among senior actors, Boman said, “Working with Mr. Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Neena Ji, Sarika Ji, Parineeti, and Danny sir make me feel incredibly proud. This is a very emotional film for me and this experience is beyond my words. I will cherish this for as long as I live. The film itself will be an experience for the viewers and all those who believe in goodness, kindness, friendships, and relationships will love this movie. And I am overwhelmed to be a part of this beautiful film.”
Uunchai story displays the friendship of three oldies Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, and Anupam Kher. The trio is on a mountaineering trek headed by a tour guide played by Parineeti Chopra. The film also features senior actor Danny Denzongpa, Neena Gupta, Sarika, and Nafisa Ali Sodhi.
Uunchai is helmed by Sooraj Barjatya under the banners of his home production Rajshri Films. Sooraj returns to directing films after a break of 7 years. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor was his last directorial project. The three senior actors will go on a trek of Uunchai on 11th November 2022.
