Various Bollywood celebrities, such as Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Shekhar Suman, and his son Adhyayan Suman, have responded to Kangana Ranaut’s slap incident. For the unversed, actor and BJP MP Kangana alleged that she was struck in the face and verbally abused by a female CISF constable during a security check at Chandigarh airport on Thursday.
Anupam Kher Reacts To Kangana Ranaut’s Slap Incident
Speaking to the paps during a recent event, Kangana’s close friend and actor Anupam Kher shared his reaction to the incident and said, “I deeply regret it. The way a woman slapped another woman by taking power of her position is wrong. This should be legally investigated. She can have grievances, but it shouldn’t be done by taking advantage of their power.”
He added, “There are democratic ways of saying what you have said in the past which has affected you. But to do something like this is very sad and unfortunate. Not only because now Kangana is an MP or actress, but Kangana is also a woman. I think any kind of violence towards anybody, forget about women, isn’t right. Tomorrow anyone can do this to anyone on any matter and later make excuses. This is wrong.”
Shekhar Suman Reacts To Kangana Ranaut’s Slap Incident
In the same event Shekhar Suman and his son Adhyayan Suman who also happens to be Kangana’s ex-boyfriend, addressed the incident. Shekhar Suman said, “It was very wrong. It was unfortunate. This shouldn’t happen to anyone. No one has the right to do this. This is illegal what she has done. She should get punished for this. I understand that she might have some anger or protest in her mind but the way it was expressed was very wrong. It could also have been said in a decent manner…You can’t raise your hand on anyone like this.”
Shabana Azmi Reacts To Kangana Ranaut’s Slap Incident
Bollywood veteran Shabana Azmi also shared her reaction to the incident and tweeted, “I have no love lost for Kangana Ranaut. But I can’t find myself joining this chorus of celebrating ‘the slap’. If security personnel start taking law into their hands, none of us can be safe.”
Mika Singh Reacts To Kangana Ranaut’s Slap Incident
Addressing the slap incident Mika Singh shared a long note on his Instagram that stated, ”We as punjabi/ Sikh community has made respect all around the world by our sewa and as saviour. It’s disheartening to hear about the airport episode that took place with Kangana Ranaut. The CISF constable was on duty at the airport and it is her job to ensure the safety of people around. It is sad that she thought it was okay to assault a passenger at the airport due to her personal anger about another situation. She should’ve show her anger outside at the airport in civil dress. But this is not the way to outburst your emotions. This act of hers will now affect other Punjabi ladies and they might get suspended from their jobs just because of the mistake made by one.”
