Bollywood Celebs Congratulated Neeraj Chopra As He Wins Silver At World Athletics Championships

Proud Bollywood celebs shower Congratulatory wishes as Neeraj Chopra won big at World Athletics Championships in Eugene

Neeraj Chopra never leaves a stone unturned to make India proud. This time at World Athletics Championships in Eugene he clinched the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw final. Bagging the silver, Neeraj created history by becoming India’s first male track and field athlete to win a medal in the World Championships. He is also the second Indian to bag a podium finish after long jumper Anju Bobby George who had finished third in the Paris Worlds in 2003. Proud Bollywood celebs congratulated Neeraj Chopra for his glorious victory. 

Kareena Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkumar Rao, and many other Bollywood celebs congratulated Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra on social media. 

Kareena Kapoor shared Neeraj’s win news on her Instagram story adding a silver medal gif and clap emoticon. While Anushka Sharma wrote “Congratulations Neeraj Chopra.” 

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also shared an Insta Story, that read, “Big Congratulations to @Neeraj_Chopra for making history yet again by winning a silver medal at world athletics championship in Oregon USA. Absolutely brilliant.”

Ayushmann Khurana reposted a sports18 post on his Instagram story and wrote: “Congratulations Neeraj Chopra on winning India’s first ever silver at the World Athletics Championships!” Rajkumar Rao complimented Chopra as the “champion of the champions”. He then added “Another one for the country. Congratulations brother.”

The 24-year-old athlete made the best throw in javelin recording a distance of 88.13m in the fourth attempt. He secured the second position in the men’s javelin throw final held in the United States. Siddharth Malhotra and Bhumi Pednekar also praised Neeraj Chopra for his achievement. 

Kangana Ranaut also took to her Instagram stories to congratulate the champion. She shared a video of him throwing the javelin and wrote, “The unstoppable @neeraj_chopra… pride of India.”

Before Neeraj, renowned long jumper Anju Bobby George was the first to win a bronze medal in the World Championships in the 2003 edition in Paris.
