This blockbuster franchise has garnered significant appreciation from audiences throughout the decade. The film upon its release garnered much praises from everybody across the nation, especially the character portrayed by Rani Mukerji in both the versions were absolute hit.
Now as the current date marks the anniversary of YRF’s Mardaani 2 release, YRF has officially broken out the big news. The production house will once again bring out the action-packed film with Rani Mukerji portraying the role of the fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy. Rani is widely regarded as one of Indian cinema’s finest actors and is the only actress credited with a blockbuster franchise as a solo lead. YRF took to their instagram to share the news with a poster still that read, “Mardaani 3, In Cinemas 2026”. The caption of the post read, “The wait is over! #RaniMukerji is back as the fierce Shivani Shivaji Roy in #Mardaani3. In cinemas 2026.”
Sharing the good news about her upcoming release, Rani said “I’m thrilled to announce that we are starting shooting of Mardaani 3 in April 2025! It is always special to wear the police uniform and play a character that has only given me love. I’m proud to essay the character of this feisty cop again in Mardaani 3 as a tribute to all the unsung, brave, self-sacrificing cops who work tirelessly every single day to keep us safe.”
