Ayushmann Khurrana Reveals His Upcoming Films In 2022

During the special screening of Anek, actor Ayushmann Khurrana talked about his upcoming films.

Ayushmann Khurrana is known for his unique script choices. Be it playing the role of a sperm donor in his debut film ‘Vicky Donor’, or a gay man in ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ at the peak of his career, Ayushmann has gained popularity by choosing out-of-the-box scripts and breaking stereotypes with his roles.

For the first time, Ayushmann has played the role of an undercover spy in Anubhav Sinha’s film ‘Anek’. The recently released film highlights the socio-political conflicts in the north-eastern region of our country. While Ayushmann is garnering appreciation for picking up this role, Ayushmann is now busy with other projects already.

At the special screening of Anek held on Thursday night in Mumbai, Ayushmann said that he is now focusing on doing commercial films. He said, “Bala and Dream Girl were commercial films. I have been doing commercial films more these days. There’s Doctor G and Action Hero lined up. Both are commercial films.”

Even while focusing on doing commercial films, he makes sure that he brings some unique and fresh concepts to the big screens. Meanwhile, he also picks films like ‘Article 15’ and ‘Anek’, which might not rake huge numbers at the box office, but create an impact and awareness amongst the audience.

Ayushmann says, “As an actor, I always try to choose challenging scripts and roles. Anek is one of them. I don’t think there has ever been a film made on this subject yet. I am sure people will like it.”

Talking about his upcoming films, ‘Doctor G’ is a social drama film directed by Anubhuti Kashyap. It also features Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah. The film was supposed to release on 17 June 2022 but got postponed.

His other film titled ‘Action Hero’ is backed by Aanand L Rai and Bhushan Kumar. It is said to be a slick actioner with an offbeat satirical sense of humour.
