Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is gearing up for his upcoming venture titled Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. The film is helmed by Abhishek Kapoor and stars Vaani Kapoor opposite Ayushmann. However, a report suggests that the filmmaker was in talks with Sushant Singh Rajput to star as the leading man in the film. Alas, after Sushant Singh Rajput the project was passed on to Ayushmann Khurrana who replaced him as the main lead. It happened because of the former’s tragic death.
For the unknown, Sushant Singh Rajput made his Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che. The 2013 film is a cult classic and the songs from the film are to date famous. After Kai Po Che, the late actor refused to do Abhishek’s next movie Fitoor. The film then featured Aditya Roy Kapur.
Later on, the actor-director duo joined hands for the 2018 film Kedarnath. The film marked the debut of Sara Ali Khan into the Bollywood industry.
The reports state that after Kedarnath, Abhishek Kapoor was in talks with Sushant Singh Rajput for his next venture. The project is allegedly Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, and Ayushmann Khurrana has now replaced Sushant Singh Rajput as the main lead.
The film starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor is a progressive love story. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Pragya Kapoor.
In the film, Vaani Kapoor will reportedly play the role of transgender. However, there hasn’t been confirmation about the same yet.
On the other hand, Ayushmann known for nailing any role with perfection will play the role of a guy who is madly in love with Vaani Kapoor’s transgender character.
The shooting of the film is currently underway in Chandigarh. A while back, Vaani shared a picture of herself with Ayushmann and Abhishek announcing that they have begun shooting for Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
Speaking of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, the film will release in the latter half of 2021.
