Indian filmmaker Ashoke Pandit has come out in the support of actor Kangana Ranaut. Ashoke posted a video of himself on Twitter where he can be seen applauding Kangana. He thanked the ‘Panga’ actor for raising her voice against the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits.
He said, “I thank Kangana Ranaut for speaking about the pain, tragedy, migration of Kashmiri Pandits and the violence against them. She has identified herself with the pain of Kashmiri Pandits and I support her decision to make a film on the tragedy. I am sure that the day this film releases, the whole world will witness the real picture of the tragedy. And it will be a slap on every filmmaker who has made fun of our tragedy via their films.”
Ashoke Pandit is currently serving as the President of Indian Film and Television Directors’ Assiciation.
In a recent video, Kangana had expressed her desire to make a film on Kashmiri Pandits. She had said, “I now know the pain of Kashmiri Pandits. And therefore, I will not only make a film on Ayodhya but the unfortunate genocide of Kashmiri Pandits as well.”
Her announcement came after BMC demolished her office amid her rift with the Maharashtra government.
