According to top police sources, Mumbai police will send summons to noted director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and casting director Shanoo Sharma of Yashraj Films for interrogating in connection with the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput.
It will be the first time Bhansali is called upon to inquire in connection with the suicide case of the Sushant Singh Rajput. Sharma has been interrogated before. Sources also said actor Kangana Ranaut and director Shekhar Kapur, who is not specifically involved in the investigation, might be asked to record their statements with the police.
The Mumbai Police has so far interrogated more than 27 people including father KK Singh alleged girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, close associates, family, colleagues, and two former Yash Raj Films, employees.
Sushant Singh Rajput was preparing for the film 'Paani' by Shekhar Kapur whilst he got an offer for Bajirao Mastani from Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Since the dates were unavailable, the actor could not be a part of the film.
Bhansali had previously offered Ramleela to Sushant but at that time the actor was busy shooting for a Yash Raj movie. Not just this, the director also had Sushant's name in mind when he was making Padmavat but Sushant couldn't be a part of any project because of the date issues.
The late actor also auditioned Saraswatichandra for SLB's television show but couldn't become a part of the same though the friendship between the two began from there. At that time, Sandeep Singh was the CEO and reveals that the whole team had told Sushant he is meant for the big screen.
Most recently, Mumbai Police interrogated Sushant's co-star of his last film, 'Dil Bechara' Sanjana Sanghi. Also called for an investigation on 27 June was Yash Raj's casting director Shanoo Sharma. She had been assigned on the same project with Sushant as he starred in movies such as Shudh Desi Romance and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy.
