New Release Date Of Ajay Devgn Starrer Maidaan Announced

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, many filmmakers had to postpone the release date of the films as the theatres across the nation remained shut due to the lockdown imposed. Meanwhile, actor Ajay Devgn has announced the new release date of his upcoming film Maidaan.

The Singham actor took to his social media handle to announce that Maidaan has now been postponed to Independence Day week in 2021. The much-awaited film will now release on August 13, 2021. He shared the new release date alongside a poster of the film.

He captioned the picture, “2021 Independence week. An untold story that will make every Indian proud. 13th August mark the date. #Maidaan2021.”

The film will be about the golden era of Indian football from 1952-1962. Ajay Devgn will essay the role of Syed Abdul Rahim. He was the coach and manager of the Indian football team during that golden era. Syed is also considered the architect of modern football in India.

The sports-drama was slated to release on December 11, 2020.

On the work front, Ajay Devgn started the year with a huge success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior alongside Saif Ali Khan who essayed the role of a villain in the blockbuster hit.

Up next, Devgn will be seen in SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited film RRR. The movie will also feature Alia Bhatt in a pivotal role.

The Golmaal actor will reportedly be making a film on the recent incident of the Galwan Valley. The story will be about the 20 Indian soldiers of 16th Bihar Regiment including an officer, Colonel Santosh Babu who laid their lives while protecting their motherland.
