Theatres and cinema halls across the nation remain shut due to the lockdown imposed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Pertaining to the on-going situation, many filmmakers opted to release their movie on an OTT platform rather than wait for the theatres to re-open.

Earlier this week, Alia Bhatt announced that her film Sadak 2 featuring Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, and Aditya Roy Kapur will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar. The film is being directed by Mahesh Bhatt who has donned the director’s hat after almost two decades.

A couple of days back the Gully Boy actress unveiled the first poster of the film featuring Mount Kailash. It is the poster that has led the film in a legal feud. The reports state that a complaint has been filed in the court on July 2 against Alia Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt, and Mukesh Bhatt for hurting Hindu sentiments for the use of Kailash Mansarovar on the poster.

The complaint was lodged by a resident of Sikandarpur in Uttar Pradesh, Acharya Chandra Kishore Parashar, through his advocate Sonu Kumar. The complaint has been lodged under IPC sections 295A (deliberately outraging religious feelings) and 120B (criminal conspiracy), Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mukesh Kumar has fixed July 8, 2020, as the hearing date in the case.

Neither Alia Bhatt nor Mahesh Bhatt or any other members associated with Sadak 2 has reacted to the news yet.

Speaking of the film, Sadak 2 is the sequel to the 1991 film Sadak featuring Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. The shooting of the film got delayed because of the on-going coronavirus pandemic and a source claimed that the shooting process will be resumed in the first week of July.
