Ayushmann Khurrana talks about the the similarities of Bala and Ujda Chaman!
With various controversies surrounding Amar Kaushik's Bala, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, and Ujda Chaman featuring Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety star, Sunny Singh, as both films are based on lives of men dealing with premature balding, Ayushmann has finally spoken up about the various comparisons drawn between both films. The makers of Ujda Chaman had initially admitted that their film is a remake of the 2017 Kannada movie Ondu Motteya Kathe. But according to the makers of Bala, they claim that they were the first to come up with the idea of the film.
Talking about the same, Ayushmann during a media interaction justified the same by claiming that not only Bala was shot first but also announced first. He also claimed that there is just one line that is similar in both movies, otherwise, they are two different films. He also revealed that the watched the Ujda Chaman after he completed filming for Bala and also stated that fans in watching the film will see the difference.
The recent poster of Ujda Chaman stated, "takle ki pehli aur original film" which was a jibe taken at Bala. But Ayushmann revealed how Bala aims to celebrate complexes and also celebrates self-love. He said, "The word 'takla' is quite derogatory. It's not celebrating self-love. It isn't about just receding hair or baldness. It's about loving and discovering yourself more than anything else. We shot our film first, announced our film first."
Earlier this year, it was also claimed by a writer how 'Bala' was based on a script that he read to Ayushmann, and he stated that he was not given any credit for his story. But Aysuhmann revealed how he was approached by six different people with the same idea and he decided to go ahead with the more credible writer.
On being asked if he was bothered that both Ujda Chaman and Bala are releasing back-to-back, Ayushmann said, "It happened with Bhagat Singh also. I'm really confident about our film, it's a beautiful film and one of the best scripts I've ever read. Anybody can come up with the same idea."
