The sudden demise of the late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor sent shockwaves across the B-town. Rishi Kapoor took his last breath on April 30, 2020, after battling leukaemia for almost 2 years. The entertainment industry is doomed at the loss of such a great talent. Rishi Kapoor’s fans and followers are extending condolences towards his family.
His last rites were attended by his family member including his wife Neetu Kapoor, son Ranbir Kapoor, his niece Kareena Kapoor Khan and her husband Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfriend, Alia Bhatt was also present at the funeral and was seen crying. However, the thing which caught everyone’s attention was that Alia Bhatt was seen with her phone as if she was face-timing someone at the other end. Alia’s this behaviour provoked many trolls and they labelled it as insensitive.
It is believed that the late actor’s wife Neetu Kapoor was the one who urged the Gully Boy actress to face-time. A source close to the Kapoor family revealed that Alia Bhatt was face-timing Rishi Kapoor’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni who wasn’t able to attend her father’s funeral as she was in Delhi. Amid the nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Riddhima had to take special permission to drive all the from Delhi to Mumbai to stay with her family during such tough times. It was Neetu Kapoor who asked Alia to let Riddhima see her father’s last rites on Face Time. Thus, such behaviour can’t be labelled as ‘rude’ or ‘insensitive’.
The last rites were performed in Mumbai’s Chandan Wadi Crematorium. Rishi Kapoor will forever be missed by the nation and his movies will be cherished.
