Aamir Khan made his directorial debut with 'Taare Zameen Par' in 2007 and starred in that widely acclaimed drama as well. The film was supposed to be directed by Amole Gupte but due to differences Amol stepped out and Aamir directed the film. The audience and reviewers had highly appreciated and enjoyed this film. The film went on to win a National Film Award (on Family Welfare).
