Anil Kapoor Rejoices 25 Years Of Virasat; Farah Khan Recalls First Filmfare For The Film

Anil Kapoor celebrates and dedicates 25 years of Virasat to Mushir Riaz

Anil Kapoor revisits time celebrating the success of his old movies. This time he is celebrating 25 years of Virasat. The actor shared old memories on social media as one of his movies completed its silver jubilee. Anil Kapoor says Virasat is his personal favourite and dedicates 25 years of the movie to Mushir Riaz, the best producer he has ever worked with. The film, directed by Priyadarshan and written by Kamal Haasan, stars Tabu and Pooja Batra in lead roles. 

Anil Kapoor chooses Instagram to revisit back in time, we can certainly say that because he always puts throwback memories on this social media platform. Time again he shared a post celebrating two and a half decades of Virasat. In the post, he uploaded a movie poster and added pictures of himself with female actors in the film. He added 2 stills of the movie, one with Tabu and another with Pooja Batra. 

He penned a heartfelt note in the caption: “Dedicating the 25th Year of my personal favourite film Virasat to one of the best producers I have ever worked with! #MushirRiaz.”

Kapoor’s post refreshed the memories of many, including director and choreographer Farah Khan who recalled her first Filmfare. In the comments section Farah wrote: My first Filmfare for viraasat.. very special film♥️”. Actor Ritesh Deshmukh commented: “One of my favourite films”.  Dancer Mukti Mohan wrote with hearts, “Love you in Virasat and Nayak” adding a lit fire emoji. Filmmaker Raj Singh Chaudhary said, “One of my all time favourites.” A fan wrote: “By far one of the greatest Hindi films made.” Another said, “Superbly directed and acted.”

Virasat has some iconic and memorable songs like “Payalay Chunmun Chunmun” and “Tare hai Barati”, which are still loved by many and hummed to date. The movie is about a boy named Shakti, played by Anil Kapoor, who sacrifices his dreams to take up his father’s legacy after his village is torn in the feudal war due to his cousin.

Anil Kapoor has recently worked on the Netflix project “Thar” along with his son Harshvardhan Kapoor. He has delivered numerous entertaining films like Nayak, Mr. India, Juddai, and Ram Lakhan keeping up with the generation he has Malang, Welcome, Dil Dhadakne Do, Total Dhamal, and many more to add to the list from the start of his career. Now in the kitty, he has “Jug Jugg Jeeyo”, which also stars Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Kiara Advani.
