Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has refused to promote his upcoming film on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. It is reported that the actor is upset with Kapil Sharma as his request was not fulfilled during his last visit on the show.
We all know that Akshay Kumar is the most frequent guest on Kapil Sharma’s popular chat show. He is the only Bollywood actor to have the maximum number of film releases every year. And before the release of every film, he visits the sets of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ to promote his film. Now, as the actor is gearing up for the release of ‘Bachchan Pandey’, he has declined to promote it on Kapil’s show.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, the differences between Akshay Kumar and Kapil Sharma started during Akshay’s last visit to the show recently. Kapil asked Akshay about an interview he did with a ‘famous personality’ where Kumar asked him how he liked eating mangoes. Kapil was referring to the interview that the actor did with PM Modi a few years back. Akshay challenged Kapil to openly name the personality, while the comedian diverts the subject.
According to the report by Hindustan Times, “after the shoot got over, the actor requested the channel to not air this portion as it made light of the PM’s office. Akshay took all of Kapil’s jokes head-on but the dig on the PM interview seemed to mock the dignity of such a high office. So Akshay requested the channel to not air that question. It is a right of the guests to make such a request as the show is not live. The channel agreed, but the said scene was leaked on the internet soon after.”
The source was further quoted, “It was a breach of trust on the part of someone in Kapil’s team, and Akshay sought a clarification before he appears on the show again.”
Meanwhile, shooting of the episode featuring the cast of Bachchan Pandey has been postponed for now.
Bachchan Pandey is scheduled for a Holi release on 18th March. It also features Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez.
