Producer Murad Khetani who gained national acclaim and fame as a successful film producer with the hindi remake of Arjun Reddy titled Kabir Singh which was released in 2019 and later went on to become one of the highest grossing films of 2019 and also was critically acclaimed along with being commercially viable and successful too, is helming the official Namak Halal remake.

Namak Halal is one of the most evergreen and timeless cult bollywood films of our Indian cinema which was a cinematic masterpiece that was released back in the year 1982 which had an aptly selected ensemble star cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman, Shashi Kapoor, Smita Patil, Parveen Babi and others in key important roles in the film.
Joining the ever increasing of classic films being remade with a fresh story line is Amitabh Bachchan’s cult film Namak Halal (1982).
Originally produced by Prakash Mehra back in 1982, this classic love revenge comedy multi starrer action saga is going to be getting a completely new and masala twist with a modern touch as it is going to be remade.
Producer Murad Khetani who had produced and backed the Kabir Singh (2019) movie that starred Shahid and Kiara will be bankrolling and producing this film Namak Halal remake as well.
According to a leading digital entertainment website reports, Murad Khetani has officially bagged the film rights of 1982 movie to create the film Namak Halal Remake and was also quoted telling the website about the same where he said, “Yes, I have bought the rights to remake Amitabh Bachchan-Shashi Kapoor-Smita Patil-Parveen Babi starrer Namak Halal. It’s a film that has been loved across generations and by people of all ages. We are working on the script at this point. We haven’t approached any actor or director for the film as of now. We will work on the casting once we lock the script completely”.
Originally the film was written by Kader Khan, and had an ace star cast of stalwart actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Smita Patil, Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Babi, Waheeda Rehman, Om Prakash which later went on to become one of the biggest block busters of that time.
Now that this timeless comedy drama movie is being remade, it is going to be a very intriguing watch and suspense for all of us to patiently wait and see as to which actor is going to be stepping into the shoes of Big B to reprise his iconic role in the Namak Halal remake.
