Trolling is inevitable in a Bollywood celebrity’s life. Almost every celeb has been a victim of online trolling and nasty comments at least once in their lifetime. Sometimes, it is for their films or controversial opinions, and the rest of the time, they just get trolled for no reason at all. Something similar is happening with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan for posting his autograph on Twitter.
Amitabh Bachchan has been a part of the Bollywood industry for over 50 years. He has seen a massive transition in every aspect of life and filmmaking. He has lived the era where fans crossed limits to get an autograph from their favourite actor. And now, he is witnessing the time where selfies are mainsteam. While fans would die over Amitabh Bachchan’s autograph 20 years ago, the actor has now made it public by sharing an image.
Posting an image of his autograph, Big B tweeted, “Kya hai Bhaisahab, Autograph chahiye? Haan, ye lijiye! Vaise suna ja raha hai ki autograph ka zamaana ab dheela chal raha hai. Kyunki autograph ki jagah ab selfie chahiye hota hai (What is it, brother? Do you want an autograph? Yes, take it. Although I have heard that autographs are out of fashion these days. Because people need selfies instead of autographs now.)”
While it should have been a moment of joy for the fans, the netizens began trolling the 79-year-old actor. Check out how and why:
A user took a dig at Narendra Modi’s government and wrote, “Sir, big fan! Ek 15 lakh ke chote se cheque pe aapka autograph chahiye bas (Just need your autograph on a small cheque of Rs 15 lakh.)”
Another Twitter user joined and wrote, “Modi ji vaale 15 lakh aane vaale hain, tab tak udhaar samajh kar hi de do. (15 lakh rupees promised by Narendra Modi Ji will soon arrive, Till then, consider it as a loan.)”
A netizen critized Amitabh Bachchan’s hand-writing as he commented, “Maaf kijiyega, lekin bahut hi khraab hai aapki hand-writing. (pardon me, but your hand writing is very bad.)”
A user refused to accept Amitabh Bachchan’s autograph as he said, “Isme mera naam nahi hai isliye autograph cancel (This doesn’t mention my name and therefore, autograph cancel.)”
Another Internet user took a dig at Bollywood industry as he said, “Nashediyon ka graph lgataar gir raha hai, unse na autograph chahiye, na selfie (The graph of drugists is falling. Don’t want either autograph or selfie from them.)”
Criticizing Amitabh Bachchan for keeping silent on rising petrol prices, a user wrote, “Autograph nahi chahiye, ek tweet chahiye petrol ki badhi hui prices ko lekar. Agar vo kar sakte ho to karo, timepass mat karo.”
One user took dig at the actor by saying, “well, you could be in trouble if your signature is same on panama’s bank account.”
Another tweet reads, “Humein sirf Sonu Sood ka autograph chahiye baaki kisi nashedi ka nahin (We only need Sonu Sood’s autograph and not of any druggist.)
And thus, the trolling saga on Amitabh Bachchan’s timeline continues for simply posting an autograph.
The Sholay actor will turn 80 this year. However, on the work front, he is unstoppable. He was recently seen in Ajay Devgn’s directorial ‘Runway 34’. He is now gearing up for another season of KBC and will also be seen in a film titled ‘Brahmastra’ that will hit the theatres in September 2022.
