Amitabh Bachchan Film Festival: Encouraging Eighty, PVR To Screen Big B Films On His Birthday

PVR cinemas to screen 11 Amitabh Bachchan films to mark the celebration of his 80th birthday

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will turn 80 on October 11. To mark the celebration of his 80th birthday The Film Heritage Foundation is organizing a four days film festival. Superstar Big B has delivered brilliant movies in his career spanning 54 years in the Indian cinema. 

The Film Heritage Foundation in association with PVR planned to bring the era of Amitabh Bachchan that has gone. PVR Cinemas will handpick Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic movies and will screen them in 22 theaters across 17 cities. This grand event will start from October 8th to October 11, which marks his 80th birthday. 

Commenting on the remarkable initiative, Amitabh Bachchan said, “I didn’t think that I would see a day that all these films from my early career would be back on the big screen across the country. It is a remarkable initiative of the Film Heritage Foundation and PVR to showcase not just my work, but the work of my directors, fellow actors and technicians of the time who made these films possible. It brings back an era that is gone, but not forgotten. This is why saving India’s film heritage is so important. I hope that this is just the beginning of many festivals that will celebrate landmark films of Indian cinema back on the big screen”.

Farhan Akhtar shared the poster on his Instagram account. He captioned the post, “October just got really exciting. A festival to celebrate the biggest of them all. From the angry young Vijay to the quirky Anthony.. what a treat to be able to watch these films on screen again. Well done Film Heritage Foundation, Shivi Dungarpur and PVR.. this is going to be magic.” 

Amitabh Bachchan gave Indian cinema some amazing brilliant movies in the past 5 decades. PVR has started this special initiative as an ode to the legend Amitabh Bachchan. The films that will be premiered are Don, Kaala Patthar, Kaalia, Kabhi Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Namak Halaal, Abhimaan, Deewar, Mili, Satte Pe Satta and Chupke Chupke. 

Apart from this, a special exhibition of Amitabh Bachchan memorabilia will also be held at PVR Cinemas at Juhu in Mumbai and this will be organized by SMM Ausaja. Fans can purchase a Movie Pass available on PVR App and Web and that can be redeemed in any of the 22 cinemas across the 4-long day film festival.
