Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt who is currently gearing up for her upcoming film ‘Darlings’ was recently seen talking about her pregnancy in an interview where the actress was seen questioning about why having a family or a child should change her professional life.
Alia Bhatt Asks Why Having A Child Should Change Her Professional Life
In a recent interview with PTI, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt opened up about why people expect that her pregnancy should affect her professional career. Alia said, “Everything a woman does is put in headlines. Whether she has decided to become a mother, she is dating somebody new, she is going for a cricket match or on a holiday. For some reason, the eyeballs are always on women’s choices. What I consciously want to do is follow my heart and go with my instinct and gut. That’s exactly what I have done through my professional and personal life and things have worked out beautifully.”
Talking about the reactions of the people Alia further added, “Of course, I am young, but why does that have to change anything? Why does having a family or a child have to change my professional life? They are two completely different things. I would continue to and prefer to lead by example and action as opposed to giving any attention to nonsensical things. To me, the people having those opinions show where they are in life. It doesn’t say anything about where I am. In fact, a lot of decisions that I have made in my life… singular, not in any relation to anyone…have happened when it was least expected. You don’t plan great things, they just happen.”
The 29-year-old actress recently announced her pregnancy in June as she posted a picture of herself and her husband Ranbir Kapoor. The actress received wishes from across the industry however she also remained a target of many as people thought that the actress might give up on her career after pregnancy. The actress previously slammed reports which stated that she will postpone her projects due to pregnancy. She wrote, “Meanwhile we still live in some people’s heads. We still live in a patriarchal world. FYI, nothing has gotten delayed. No one needs to pick anyone up. I am a woman, not a parcel. I do not need to rest at all but good to know you’ll have a doctor’s certification as well. This is 2022. Can we please get out of this archaic way of thinking? Now if you would excuse me. My shot is ready.”
On the work front, Alia will soon be seen in her Hollywood debut film, ‘Heart Of Stone’, the actress is also awaiting the release of her films Darlings, and Brahmastra. She recently wrapped up the shoot of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. Apart from this, she will also be seen in ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ with Katrina and Priyanka.
