Alia Bhatt who was seen attending the Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star, 2019 opened up about how she dealt with the failure of her film Kalank. She revealed that her beau Ranbir Kapoor's words of wisdom helped her get over her film's failure

Alia Bhatt who starred in Karan Johar’s Kalank which also featured Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Madhuri Dixit Nene, tanked at the box office even though the film was a magnum opus. The film’s failure came as a big shock to the filmmaker and the film’s star cast, and they all came to terms with the fact that the audience wasn’t in favour of their project. But Alia was heartbroken as her hard work didn’t pay-off. And she revealed that her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor helped her cope up with the failure of her movie – Kalank.

Alia got candid about the same when Karan Johar asked as to how she dealt with the failure of Kalank. She said, “Strangely, I was really ok the day it happened. I had seen the film a day before and I knew in my head what was going to happen. Though I didn’t think it will be going to be hit by a truck. Later on when I thought about it, what really broke my heart was that I always in my head had this idea that if you work really hard, it’ll always pay-off. But it didn’t. That felt scary.”

She then revealed what Ranbir Kapoor advised her, she said, “He said, you put in the hard work, it doesn’t have to pay-off immediately. It’ll pay off in your life, someday. That’s what it means to be a hardworking actor or a person. Someday the goodness will come to you in another film. My job is to put in the hard work. I believed in the film, it didn’t pan out the way we wanted to, I felt bad about it for a few days but I had to focus on my next.”
