Alia Bhatt Explained Dimple Kapadia’s Brief Role In Brahmastra

Alia Bhatt has answers for fans questioning Dimple Kapadia’s 2.5 secs role in Brahmastra

Brahmastra: Part One Shiva is the most talked about film in Bollywood. This fantasy adventure film is the brainchild of director Ayan Mukerji bringing an ensemble cast to make it a cinematic universe. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in the lead. It also features Shah Rukh Khan and Dimple Kapadia in cameo roles. Fans were happy to see SRK but were upset and disappointed with Dimple Kapadia’s 2.5 secs role.

Dimple Kapadia plays an important role in the story however, not much about her character is explained nor her skills are shown. Makers are criticized for not utilizing the talent of the veteran actress who has a very short role of just 2.5 secs. In the film she talks about ancient weapons of India and weaves Indian mythology with science fiction. Alia Bhatt, who plays the female lead, addressed the brief role of Dimple Kapadia.

Alia Bhatt said, “I know the larger thought that Ayan has for each and every character that you have seen in Brahmastra: Part One. So, you know that it is conceptualised as a trilogy. For example, people have asked me about Dimple Kapadia – you have seen her for 2.5 seconds but why and how? You can always think that the makers and creator have something in mind for every character. And I think I take it as a compliment that people want to see more of me in some way.”

She further said fans would see her more screen space and better understanding in coming parts of the film. Alia also mentioned that the length of a role does not matter to her. She continued, “Definitely, I can say this with my eyes shut – the quality of Isha’s character is very strong in Brahmastra. I am dead sure they are not going to feel it in parts two and three. I genuinely feel the conceptualisation is done at a larger scale. So it’s not only in relation to Isha’s character, people have so many questions in general – with regards to Amrita and Dev’s character and Amitji’s character, there are so many questions. But this is part one; let the story unfold. I don’t want to give too much of a way, because we genuinely can’t. We have been reading everything and we have been excited and entertained and it is lovely that it is being discussed at a large level.”

Brahmastra: Part One Shiva managed to mint Rs 225 crore in gross box office collection worldwide in its first weekend. Amid the negativity on social media, the film received mixed reviews.
