Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan has created a buzz over the internet. Ever since the trailer was released fans have been excitedly waiting for the movie to hit the theaters. Raksha Bandhan is directed by Aanand L Rai. A new song titled “Tere Saath Hoon Main” from the movie was released yesterday. During the song launch event, Akshay Kumar revealed that he would like to work again with Aanand L Rai but proposed a condition.
Know what the condition is, that is holding Kumar from working again with filmmaker Aanand L Rai. The forthcoming movie Raksha Bandhan marks the second collaboration of the director and actor Akshay Kumar after Atrangi Re which stars Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush in the leading roles. At the song launch of “Tere Saath Hoon Main” singer Himesh Reshammiya, director Aanand L Rai and actor Akshay Kumar were present. In the attendance of media and others, the Sooryavanshi actor mentioned that he is ready to collaborate with the director again but only on one condition.
He said, “Aanand Ji is a very good person. I have done two films with him and I will do one more film with him if Raksha Bandhan works.” If we look back at Akshay’s recent filmography none of his films has worked well at the box office. Last movie Samrat Prithviraj went flop, earlier to that Bachchhan Paandey again was not a success. Even Bell Bottom released last year was at a loss.
The Hera Pheri actor also admitted that he agreed to do Raksha Bandhan even before listening to the entire script. He said, “Aanand Ji narrated two lines of the story in the morning at my office, saying there are four sisters and this is the situation. I said yes to it. Some stories are universal and they touch you within five minutes (of narration). Even with Good Newwz, within three to five minutes I liked it and said okay to it. If somebody else had listened to this story (Raksha Bandhan), they would have said yes to it.”
Raksha Bandhan narrates the story of a brother and four sisters. The movie is not limited to brother-sister love and bond but voices the issue of dowry. Opposite Akshay Kumar, the movie stars Bhumi Pednekar in the leading role. The family drama produced by Zee Studios, Colour Yellow Productions, and Cape of Good Films will release on 11th August 2022.
