Akshay Kumar Slams Criticism On His Work Culture Of Multiple Movies

Akshay Kumar addressed criticism against his habit of doing four films a year

Akshay Kumar is one of the busiest actors in Bollywood releasing movies every third or the fourth month. In the recent past, he has delivered 5 major films, namely Bachchan Pandey, Sooryavanshi, Bell Bottom, Atrangi Re, and the very latest one Samrat Prithviraj. It is wondered how as an actor he manages to make four films a year while other actors take 1-2 years to shoot one film. Akshay Kumar addressed the criticism he faced for his movie-minting habit.

Akshay Kumar is famous for his discipline and for completing projects in a short span. He has been criticized for this a lot when his movies went flop at the box office. His latest movie Samrat Prithviraj too had a low run and failed to make numbers at the box office despite being a historical film.

When asked how he manages to complete multiple projects in less time the actor asserted taking fewer holidays. Akshay elaborates it to ETimes, “Right through my career, especially during my early days, people used to ask me why I work on four films in a year. People have always asked me to slow down and ease out on the number of films I act in or produce. Let me tell you, I take the maximum number of holidays for any individual in the film industry. I never work on Sundays. I always work half a day on Saturday.”

He further added: “Aanand L Rai commented on this as well, wherein he told me that my work culture has changed his very perception of working. I spend only 8 hours on a film set in the day, but I don’t spend a single minute of those 8 hours in a vanity van. I am always standing on the floor of the movie set. My 8 hours are equal to 14-15 hours of any other star. That’s my commitment to the movies.”

On the work front, Aanand L Rai’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’, Amit Rai’s ‘Oh My God 2 (OMG 2)’, Abhishek Sharma’s ‘Ram Setu’, Raj Mehta’s ‘Selfiee’, and Ranjit Tewari’s untitled next are in his pipeline. The Sooryavanshi actor has already finished shooting for many of these. And if to believe speculation he is in a process of signing Dinesh Vijan’s next project.
