Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj Banned In Oman; Know Why

Samrat Prithviraj is falling into one or the other controversies since its announcement has been made. In the recent past, the makers accepted the demand of Karni Sena to rename the title from Prithviraj to Samrat Prithviraj. The Periodic drama is all set to release in theaters on June 3. Unfortunately, the environment is displeasing in Middle east countries regarding the movie’s release. Allegedly Akshay Kumar starrer is banned in Oman and Kuwait and it is unlikely to make it on big screens.

Reliable sources close to the film confirmed that Samrat Prithviraj is banned in Oman and Kuwait, however, the reason behind it is yet to be revealed and we wait for final validation from the team.

A senior trade source said, “It is highly unfortunate that a film that is based on our glorious Hindu Samrat Prithviraj’s life and courage has been banned in some international markets like Kuwait and Oman. It seems that these countries have taken this stand in the run up to the film’s release.”

A source quoted, “Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’s life is a testimony to the fact that Indians stood up for what is right and defended our country from merciless invaders who only wanted to loot and plunder and murder our people. This film is really buzzing right now and the anticipation is only skyrocketing. Banning his life story only makes one question the fact that why can’t people take a look at history and accept what happened to India and Hindus.”

On Wednesday, June 1, Samrat Prithviraj was specially screened in Delhi for Home Minister Amit Shah. The honorable minister who watched the film with his family in theaters after 13 years was full of praise. He appreciated the story cast and crew as he enjoyed it watching being a history student himself.

The movie narrates the first Battle of Tarain between the 12th-century ruler mighty fearless king Prithviraj Chauhan against Muhammad Ghori of the Ghurid dynasty. Akshay Kumar will portray the role of the emperor and has Manushi Chillar, Sanjay Dutt, Manav Vij, Sonu Sood, and Ashutosh Rana in titular roles. This film marks as Bollywood debut of former Miss World Manushi Chillar.

The historical epic ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Film. This is also the first historical creation of the renowned Bollywood makers YRF.
