Filmmaker Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar have together delivered several blockbuster hits like the all-time classic horror comedy, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”, “De Dana Dan”, “Hera Pheri”, “Bhagam Bhag” and many others. The last film of the duo was the 2010 film, “Khatta Meetha”. It’s been almost 14 years since the filmmaker and actor duo collaborated for any project. However, that’s about to change.
Reportedly, after 14 years, Akshay Kumar and Bhool Bhualiyaa director, Priyadarshan are currently gearing up for a new project. The new project is expected to be a “horror comedy” film. Akshay Kumar’s 57th birthday on September 9 will see the unveiling of his new film. A Mid-Day report indicates that a motion poster, along with the film’s title, will be revealed on this special occasion.
As per the report, the shooting of the horror-comedy film will begin by the end of 2024 and will be wrapped up by the first half of 2025. Akshay’s character details may be revealed in the motion poster, with the cast still being finalized.
In the upcoming film, Akshay will portray a suave character who charms three women, with a black magic horror twist. Conceptualized by Ekta Kapoor, who is also producing, the film is rumored to star Kiara Advani, Keerthy Suresh, and Alia Bhatt. However, there’s no confirmation about the same.
In his recent projects, Akshay Kumar made a special appearance in Stree 2 and had a major release with Khel Khel Mein, which launched alongside the sequel. He will next be seen in films like Subhash Kapoor’s Jolly LLB 3 with Arshad Warsi, and Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again alongside Ajay Devgn and others. He also has “Sky Force” among several other films in the pipeline.
