Akshay Kumar Opens Up On Films Failure At Box Office

Many big-budget films like Laal Singh Chaddha, and Samrat Prithviraj, among others, have made some very awful earnings at the box office. Despite having the biggest star cast and budget the films couldn’t manage to get a decent run at the box office.

Addressing the same, the Raksha Bandhan actor Akshay Kumar finally opened up on the film’s failure at the box office. During the trailer launch of Cittputlli, the actor was asked by a journalist that since the films are not working and the actors are struggling at the box office, so will it be a safe space to make films on OTT.

Responding to this Akshay said, “No, see films are not working it is our fault, it is my fault. I have to make the changes, I have to understand what the audience wants, I want to do my changes, I want to dismantle my way and the way I think about what kind of films I should do. So nobody else is to be blamed but me.”

Talking about OTT being the “safe space”, he said, “No it is not the safe space, that also requires people to say ‘yes’ we like the film or we don’t like the film. So it is nothing got to do with “safe”. It is not a safety net, yahan bhi film jaati hai release hoti hai, people are watching the film, the media is watching it, the critics are watching it, the audience is watching it, they give whether they like the film or not, so there’s nothing like “safe” you have to work hard and that’s it, period”.

Earlier Akshay Kumar appeared in Aanand L Rai’s directorial film, Raksha Bandhan, unfortunately, the film remained a disappointment for his fans. Raksha Bandhan is emerging as his third flop of Akshay Kumar after Samrat Prithviraj and Bachchhan Paandey.
