Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is leaving no stone unturned to help those adversely affected by the lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The entertainment industry came to a screeching halt when the lockdown got imposed in March. Due to the lockdown, many daily wage earners have lost their livelihood and are facing financial crises.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has again stepped forward to help the needy. The actor has donated Rs. 45 lakhs to Cine & TV Artistes’s Association (CINTAA) amid the on-going pandemic. Akshay Kumar had already been working to support those in need. He had previously donated Rs. 25 crores to the PM Cares Fund, followed by donations to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CM Relief Fund).
Apart from that he also donated Rs. 2 crores to Mumbai Police, and Rs. 3 crore to BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for PPE kits like masks, gloves, rapid testing kits to fight against the coronavirus.
He also stepped forward to donate 1000 smartwatches to the on-duty Mumbai Police and 50 wristbands to Nashik Police to help them detect the early symptoms of COVID-19.

Akshay Kumar has been quite active on social media spreading awareness about the novel coronavirus infection and urging people to stay indoors to combat the spread of the disease. He has also shot a short-film with R Balki amid the lockdown and it will be about all the precautionary measures one must take once the lockdown gets over.

On the work front, Khiladi Kumar’s horror-comedy Laxmmi Bomb is going to release on an OTT platform as the theatres across the nation stay shut due to government orders.
