Akshay Kumar Donates Rs. 2 Crore To Mumbai Police

After making donations to PM-CARES Fund and BMC, Akshay Kumar has now donated Rs. 2 crores for Mumbai Police Foundation. Read below to know more.

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has been quite active on social media and is spreading awareness about the on-going novel coronavirus pandemic. He previously donated Rs. 25 crores to PM-CARES Fund and Rs. 3 crore to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for PPE kits, masks, and rapid testing kits, to fight against the global health crisis.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar also donated Rs. 2 crore to the Mumbai Police Foundation. The actor’s action followed the recent demise of Mumbai Police head constables Chandrakant Pendurkar and Sandip Surve at a time when the police are working tirelessly to maintain law and order in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

Thanking the Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood for his generous contribution Mumbai Police tweeted, “Mumbai Police thanks @akshaykumar for contributing Rs. 2 Crore to the Mumbai Police Foundation. Your contribution will go a long way in safeguarding the lives of those who are committed to safeguarding the city – the men and women of Mumbai Police! #MumbaiPoliceFoundation.”

Replying to their tweet the Housefull actor wrote, “I salute @MumbaiPolice headconstables Chandrakant Pendurkar & Sandip Surve, who laid their lives fighting Corona. I have done my duty, I hope you will too. Let’s not forget we are safe and alive because of them.”

We hope that Akshay Kumar’s noble deed inspires others to step forward and extended their support in this war against the novel coronavirus.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will be next seen in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. In the film, Akshay will portray the role of a tough cop. The film was originally slated to release on March 24 but amid the lockdown, the makers had to postpone its release date.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that Sooryavanshi will release digitally skipping its theatrical release.
