Akshay Kumar, who turned 55 today, is one of the busiest actors in Bollywood releasing movies every third or the fourth month. In the recent past, he has delivered several major films, namely Bachchan Pandey, Sooryavanshi, Bell Bottom, Atrangi Re, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, and the very latest one Cuttputlli. It is wondered how as an actor he manages to make four films a year. Nevertheless, Akshay Kumar has more movies in the pipeline, take a look at upcoming movies of Khiladi Kumar.

Upcoming Movies Of Akshay Kumar

Ram Setu

Ram Setu is an action-adventure film based on an archaeologist investigating whether Ram Setu is a myth or a reality. Akshay Kumar will play the role of an archeologist in the action adventure drama. It is directed by Abhishek Sharma and co-produced by Cape of Good Films along with Amazon Prime Video, Abundantia Entertainment, and Lyca Productions. Apart from Akshay Kumar Ram Setu also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushratt Bharuccha, and Satya Dev in leading roles. The film is set to hit theaters on October 24, 2022.

Selfiee

Another film in Akshay Kumar’s work pipeline is Selfiee. The actor will collaborate with Emraan Hashmi for the first time in this drama comedy. Reportedly, Kumar will play the role of a superstar, while Emraan will play a cop who is a fan of the superstar. The movie also stars Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha in lead roles. Selfiee is scheduled to arrive in theaters in February 2023. 

The upcoming Akshay Kumar film is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film titled Driving License. Helmed by Raj Mehta it is produced by late Aruna Bhatia, Hiroo Yash Johar, Supriya Menon, Karan Johar, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Apoorva Mehta and Listin Stephen.

Oh My God 2

Oh My God 2 is a sequel of Akshay Kumar’s popular movie Oh My God released in 2012. The much-awaited second installment is finally in making. OMG 2 features Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi, and Arun Govil in pivotal roles. Written and directed by Amit Rai, the movie was speculated to release this October however the actor dismissed the rumours. The release date of Oh My God 2 is still awaited.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is touted as the biggest action entertainer as action superstars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff team up for the film. Written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar the movie will release in five languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The movie is now in pre-production and will go on floors in January 2023. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is planned to be released during Christmas of 2023. 

Gorkha

Akshay Kumar and Aanand L Rai announced their next project in October last year. This marks the third collaboration of the actor and the filmmaker. After Raksha Bandhan, the duo teamed up for Gorkha. The movie is based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo, a legendary officer of the Gorkha Regiment of the Indian Army. Gorkha is a biopic of 1971 Indo-Pak war hero Major General Ian Cardozo. The movie is directed by Sanjay Chauhan and bankrolled by Aanand L Rai under Colour Yellow Productions.

Capsule Gill

Capsule Gill is a biographical movie based on the life of chief mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill. The movie revolves around the 1989 coal mine disaster where chief mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill saved the lives of over 60 lives. Akshay Kumar is said to play the role of Jaswant Gill while Parineeti Chopra will act as his wife. 

Capsule Gill reunites Kesari co-stars, Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra. Apart from the two, Kumud Sharma, Ravi Kishan, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya are also included in the pivotal roles. The film is directed by Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment and Kyta Productions.

Soorarai Pottru

With several original contents, Akshay Kumar will also remake a Tamil film titled Soorarai Pottru. Kollywood’s ace actor Suriya headlined the original film in the same name. Akshay Kumar will overtake the role of Suriya in the action drama. The Hindi remake is also directed by Sudha Kongara, who helmed the original film, and co-produced by Suriya and Jyotika’s 2D Entertainment, Akshay Kumar’s Cape Of Good Hope, and Abundantia Entertainment.
