A fresh Bollywood pairing is on the way, with Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday reportedly set to star in a Dharma Productions biopic about the late Indian lawyer C. Sankaran Nair. Despite the excitement surrounding this new collaboration, recent updates indicate that the film might have been “shelved” and may not be moving forward as initially planned.

Dharma Productions’ upcoming biopic, The Untold Story of C. Shankaran Nair, has reportedly been put on hold. According to a Zoom report, the film was approaching completion before being temporarily shelved.
However, as per a new report by the portal dismissed the claims. According to the new report from Zoom, reliable sources have confirmed that Dharma Productions’ biopic The Untold Story of C. Shankaran Nair, is set to be released next year, 2025. The film is nearly finished and is reportedly turning out to be quite exceptional.
Akshay-Ananya’s Role In Shankaran Nair’s Biopic
The biopic explores C. Shankaran Nair’s legal fight against the British Empire in the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. C. Shankaran Nair is renowned for his legal battle against the British Empire over the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. In the film, Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday portray lawyers, with Akshay playing a senior, esteemed attorney and Ananya as an emerging lawyer who seeks his guidance.
It is to be noted that there will be no romantic subplot between Akshay and Ananya’s characters. The Untold Story of C. Shankaran Nair was filmed across several locations, including Delhi’s Jama Masjid and Mumbai’s Goregaon, with a large set recreating Jallianwala Bagh built for the production. The project, first announced in 2021, saw Karan Johar on board and Akshay Kumar joining last year to take on the lead role.
