This is indeed very surprising piece of news as the ace eccentric global bollywood star actress who till date never spoke up on the issue of facing rejections and getting replaced in films has now told publically to people about the same where how much ever saddening the news is, but it’s true that Aishwarya Rai was removed from 5 films by Shah Rukh.
Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan had not removed Aishwarya from just one film but there were five movies in which she was replaced by some other actress and this proves the reality that yes, indeed Aishwarya Rai was removed from 5 films by Shah Rukh.

Aishwarya’s entire career journey has been very amazing right from being crowned as the Miss World in 1994 to her bollywood filmography in the highly competitive entertainment industry, The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016) fame actress has done each and every thing by living her life on her own terns and in her own way.
This is very shocking but yes sometimes even she was taken aback and confused by the industry’s working culture where Aishwarya has confessed to being a victim of facing rejections and getting replaced in films without any prior notice, as saddening this is, but yes it’s a real fact that Aishwarya Rai was removed from 5 films by Shah Rukh.
It was only known back then that the DDLJ actor Shah Rukh had removed her from quite a few films. During her one of her appearances at the veteran actress Simi Garewal’s chat show Rendezvous With Simi Garewal, she answered the questions asked by Simi and when was questioned about having been removed from 4 to 5 films by Shah Rukh which also included Veer Zaara, Aishwarya got really uncomfortable with the question and said, “How can I have an answer to that”. She confessed that certainly they both were supposed to appear in four to five films together. Explaining the same she said, “Yes, at the time, there was talk of a couple of films that we would be working in together. And then, suddenly they weren’t happening, without any explanation whatsoever. I have never had the answer to why”.
Simi also made a revelation to Aishwarya about how bad and regretted Shah Rukh had felt of not casting her in his films and his reason for doing it was because he felt that he was interfering too much in her life. On this she said, “I don’t have the answer to that”, clearing the fact that she didn’t opt out of those films on her own. When asked about how she felt after learning about the same, she said, “See, at the time, when you have no explanation, you’re obviously completely taken aback, and confused, and hurt. You wonder about it”.
Simi also quizzed Aishwarya of if she ever asked about the reason to Shah Rukh where she said, “It’s not in my nature to.” She explaining the same told, “If a person feels a need to explain it, they will. If they never did, they never intend to. So, it’s not in my nature to get into questioning what and why. Probably within myself, but I wouldn’t go up to a person and ask why. By the grace of God, I’m not defined by the other”.
Almost seventeen years back in the year 2003 during one of Shah Rukh’s interviews with a reputed Indian news channel when he was asked the same question, he said, “To start a project with someone and then change her for no fault of hers is very difficult. It is very sad as Ash is a good friend. Personally, I think I did wrong. But as a producer it made sense. I apologised to Ash”.
Further during her conversational chat with Simi Garewal on her show Aishwarya also added, “I was never put in a position where I was suddenly sitting there, with these films out of my diary, with absolutely nothing happening career wise, where I would be wondering ‘oh, now what, and why?”.
