Bollywood Actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have completed 15 glorious years of their marriage today. Their love story began in 2005 after which the Bollywood Couple tied the knot in the year 2007 and ever since then the couple is adored as one of the most popular duos in and out of Bollywood. Both of them appeared for several TV interviews after their marriage.
Here’s a timeline of the 15 years of this adorable Bollywood couple:
‘The First Meeting’
In one of his interviews, the Dasvi actor mentioned how Bobby Deol played cupid for the couple, when he introduced him to Aishwarya Rai in 1997 on the sets of ‘Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya’ movie. At that time, Abhishek wasn’t an actor but a Production boy. While Bobby Deol was shooting for his debut film in Switzerland in which he was casted opposite Aishwarya Rai where Abhishek had gone for a recce for Amitabh Bachchan’s film Mrityudata. And that’s when his childhood friend Bobby Deol asked him to join the dinner after the shooting and that was the first time the couple met each other.
‘Sharing Screen Together For The First Time’
Later the duo was seen sharing the screen for the first time in the year 2000 for the movie ‘Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke’. In one of his interviews, Abhishek Bachchan said “It was our first film together, and I expected a diva. Instead, she was disarmingly wonderful.” Soon after their first movie together the actors became friends and worked together in ‘Kuch Naa Kaho’ in 2003.
In 2005 the duo was seen along with Amitabh Bachchan in the song ‘Kajra Re’ from the movie ‘Bunty Aur Babli’. This is where the story of this couple began. The couple started falling for each other during the shooting of the music video. After which they remained in news every now and then.
‘The Proposal’
In 2007, during the promotional trip for their film ‘Guru’ in New York, after months of dating, Abhishek Bachchan proposed Aishwarya Rai on the hotel’s balcony. Abhishek did not have a diamond ring to propose to Aishwarya. Instead, he took a ring from the props from the sets of the film Guru.
‘The Big Day’
On April 20, 2007, the couple tied the knot, soon after which the duo went on a month-long honeymoon in Europe.
After their marriage, the couple was once interviewed at a chat show hosted by popular Hollywood host Oprah Winfrey where the Dasvi actor was questioned on, “What is it like to be married to the most beautiful woman in the world?”, to which he gave a phenomenal response saying, “Oh, it is pleasant on the eyes.”
‘Welcoming The First Born’
After four years of their marriage, Aishwarya and Abhishek welcomed their first child, Aaradhya Bachchan on November 16, 2011. After which both Aishwarya and Abhishek have been seen pampering and showering love on their beloved daughter.
