Ahana Kumra: Salman, Shahrukh Akshay Run My Kitchen

Kumra feels indebted to these big stars. The actress explains her stand on it and her wishes for Bollywood in a tell all interview.

Lipstick under my Burkha fame actress Ahana Kumra gave an interview to a news paper daily and spoke about how she feels about indebted to big banners. She feels it is because of them that she gets the types of roles she wishes to do.

Elaborating further she explained that the big banners and film makers make commercial films, movies that have finacial success, only then small films could get funded.

“They’ve to recover their cost and make profit. If big films aren’t made then small films won’t get funded. So, in a way, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar run my kitchen. Because of them, other small films will be made and I’ll get some roles in them. I’m indebted to these big stars.”

On future plans with movies, she voiced her opinions on Bollywood and wishes more variety fro actresses.

“Filmmakers really need to pay attention to the kind of roles female actors are playing on the web. How many strong female parts in films could you recall in the recent past? I take immense pride in saying that I’ve never repeated a character,” she said. 

Even though Kumra made her Bollywood debut in the industry with the short film ‘Mai’ and Sona Spa, she garnered fame and acclaim only after doing Lipstick under my Burkha in 2017.

The critically acclaimed movie which was also surrounded by controversies opened a lot of door for the talented actress.

Ahana Kumra Recent Work

On work front she recently got awarded with Best Actress Award at the Asian Academy for her Web series Marzi on Voot. She took to twitter to express her happiness.

In Bollywood, she was last seen in ‘Khuda Hafiz’ with Vidyut Jamwal. Her next project is in Ranbir Kapoor‘s ‘Shamshera’
