Aditya Roy Kapur Reacts On TV To Films Journey

Aditya Roy Kapur recalls his journey from a TV host to an actor in Bollywood films

Aditya Roy Kapur is in news for his latest released film Rashtra Kavach Om. In the action thriller film, the actor essayed the role of a soldier and was seen performing high-octane action stunts like never before. Earlier the Ok Jaanu actor spoke on the physique transition he underwent to get into the skin of an action hero. He later revealed his transformation from a TV channel VJ to a Bollywood actor. 

For those who are unaware Aditya was a VJ (video jockey) on a music channel. Before entering the film industry the Kalank actor served television for a few years. However, he didn’t get into fiction entertaining daily soaps instead he hosted television shows for four and a half years that air mostly on youth and music channels such as MTV, Channel V, and Bindaas. The Fitoor actor hosted the popular, ‘India’s hottest’ show with VJ, Bruna Abdullah show till 2008. He was VJ for Channel V and did a show titled Pakao for the same channel.

Aditya spoke about the changes and differences he has experienced in both streams. He felt like a new journey when entering movies. In a recent, The Bombay Journey video of Mashable India Aditya opened up on his journey from television to films. He said: “I did four and a half years of television. I was a VJ. I was doing hosting on TV and not fiction. The audience and the vibe was very different from films. I don’t think it was an overlap. When I did get into film, it just felt like a new journey started, I did not give any thought to it. I did not think that ‘Oh, I have to handle this.’ I moved into films and it was pretty seamless after that.” 

Aditya Roy Kapur returned to the silver screen two years after Malang which was released before the global pandemic of COVID-19. Meanwhile, he appeared in the films LUDO and Sadak 2 which were released on digital space. His newest film Rashtra Kavach Om released on 1st July featuring Sanjana Sanghi, Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana, and Prakash Raj. He will next appear alongside Mrunal Thakur in Gumraah – a Hindi remake of the Tamil film Thadam.
