“The Kerala Story” entered Rs 200 crore club at the box office earlier this week. The film witnessed maximum footfalls on the third Saturday beating the collections of the first Saturday. The film has been receiving great response from the audience around the globe. “The Kerala Story” has become the first Indian female-led film to cross Rs 200 crore mark. Overwhelmed with this achievement, actress Adah Sharma took to her Instagram and penned a heartwarming note. She wrote, “Congratulations to the Indian public! Congratulations to all of you who held hoardings, painted art, posted videos, spread the word, travelled across states (watched the video of the bus hired to go from Bengal to Assam to watch TKS in a theatre.. Your movie #TheKeralaStory is a Huge Blockbuster.. thank you for including me in your success.”
She further added, “Heartening to see that even internationally #TheKeralaStory is touching hearts of so many .. it’s just two days old in the UK …. USA ,Cannada , Australia and other countries been reading your messages as well.”
Earlier, Adah mentioned how she was criticized and threatened when the film’s teaser was released but the love from the audience has made her win. She said in a post, “Discrediting my sincerity, mocking my integrity , threats ..Our teaser getting shadow banned,the movie getting banned in certain states,slander campaigns launched… BUT you ,the audience made #TheKeralaStory the no1 Female Lead movie first week of ALL TIME !!wowww! “The Kerala Story” is directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film features Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani. It was released in theatres on 5 May. “The Kerala Story” revolves around the concept of Love Jihad and shows how innocent Hindu girls are trapped to convert to Islam and later forced to join ISIS.
