The casting for a Bollywood film is a tricky process. Even if the storyline is fabulous, one needs to cast the right actors for each character in the film. Sometimes, filmmakers don’t always get to cast the actors of their choice.
There have been times when actors initially signed the film, started working on them and later walked away mid-way. Let’s check out the list:
1- Kareena Kapoor
Kareena Kapoor was supposed to make her Bollywood debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in film ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’. She even shot a few parts of the film but later walked out of the project. She was then replaced with Ameesha Patel while Kareena made her debut with film ‘Refugee’ alongside Abhishek Bachchan.
2- Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor doesn’t do many films, but the ones he does, he invests years in it. Did you know that he was supposed to play the role of Akbar in the period drama film ‘Jodhaa Akbar’? Well, Ranbir had himself made this revelation but didn’t share the reason behind this decision. Later, Hrithik Roshan was signed and we can’t be thankful enough for it.
3- Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt was supposed to star opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Raabta. She had even signed the film but then walked out since her dates were clashing with Karan Johar’s film Shuddhi which eventually got shelved. Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon replaced Alia in Raabta.
4- Sushant Singh Rajput
Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput made his debut with ‘Kai Po Che’, a film based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel. He was then again offered to star in ‘Half Girlfriend’ which is also based on Chetan Bhagat’s book. It is said that he had even signed the film but then opted out as the dates were clashing with his film ‘Raabta’.
5- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan:
Gorgeous actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the first choice for the 2003 film ‘Chalte Chalte’. Aishwarya had even begun shooting the film. During that time, she was having an ugly breakup with Salman Khan. It is reported that Salman Khan came on sets and vandalized the property. This is the reason why Aishwarya was removed from the film and Rani Mukerji came on board.
