OTT platforms came as a savior for us during the lockdown this year. With theatres shut down, the audience, as well as filmmakers, switched to OTT platforms. And with the increase in viewership on OTT, it is obvious that certain actors in films and web-series became popular whom we might not notice otherwise. Let’s discuss a list of actors who rose to fame with OTT in 2020.
1- Pratik Gandhi:
If anything good has happened to us this year, it is Pratik Gandhi who blew our minds with his stellar portrayal of Harshad Mehta in Scam 1992. He worked in theatres for 15-20 years and even did some roles in a few Bollywood films but always went unnoticed. Thanks to 2020 and OTT, we finally discovered this gem.
2- Divyendu Sharma:
Divyendu was noticed in the first season of Mirzapur, but it was the second season in which Divyendu made more fans. People are now so crazy after him that they want him to return in season 3 even when his character has died.
3- Jaideep Ahlawat:
Ask people the one thing they liked about the web-series Pataal Lok, and many would name Jaideep Ahlawat. Jaideep has initially worked in films like Raazi and Gangs of Wasseypur, but he finally played a lead in Pataal Lok and impressed us with his impressive and convincing acting.
4- Abhishek Banerjee:
If we have to pick another character from Pataal Lok, it would be Abhishek Banerjee who played the terrific role of Hathoda Tyagi. Even though we saw him in Stree, but his work in Pataal Lok gave him much fame.
5- Isha Talwar:
The last name on today’s list is Isha Talwar who played the role of Madhuri Yadav in Mirzapur 2. Her stellar performance gave her instant fame and fan following.
