Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan highly known for his roles in Welcome and Stree 2 recently faced a very distressing incident. After this terrifying incident, actor’s business partner named Shivam Yadav, came forward to inform that Mushtaq Khan got kidnapped by individuals who invited him to an event under false pretenses. The incident unfolded when he landed in Delhi on November 20, and then the rest is history!
As per the actor’s business partner conversation with India Today Digital, Mushtaq Khan was invited to an award show in Meerut, for which he also received an advance payment and flight tickets. After landing in Delhi, he was directed to a vehicle that drove him to a remote location near Bijnor. Then, for nearly 12 hours Mr Khan was reportedly tortured as the kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₹1 crore. Eventually, they extorted ₹2 lakh from his and his son’s accounts.
Shivam recounted that Mushtaq Khan managed to escape early in the morning after hearing the azaan, through a belief that a mosque was nearby, he sought help from locals and police who ensured his safe return home.
Once safe, Mushtaq Khan and his family filed an FIR in Bijnor. Shivam stated they provided substantial evidence including flight tickets, bank transaction details and CCTV footage. The actor also identified the neighborhood and house where he was held captive.
This shocking case is not an isolated one. Recently, comedian Sunil Pal shared a similar experience. He was kidnapped en route to Haridwar for a private event, facing threats and extortion. Similarly, actor Rajesh Puri also reported being lured under the guise of an event and narrowly escaping abduction.
These repeated incidents raise concerns about the safety of public figures attending events. Shivam expressed hope that such events would prompt awareness and protection for celebrities in the future.
