Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha is talk of the town. Only a handful of movies have achieved greatly at the box office amid this all eyes are on Laal Singh Chaddha. People are hoping that the film will bring back happy times in Bollywood. Aamir Khan is back in the game after a hiatus of four years after his last movie Thugs Of Hindostan which was a disaster at the box office. The excitement has been raised with the return of the superstar and it is expected that the movie will bring the audience to theaters.
Laal Singh Chaddha is an official adaptation of the Hollywood movie Forrest Gump featuring Tom Hanks. The comedy-drama film also stars Kareena Kapoor and marks the Bollywood debut of Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya. In the last few months, the movie has been trending for various reasons including the boycott trend. These aspects may help in some way to make business at the box office.
According to reports, the movie will be screened on 3500 screens including Tamil and Telugu across India. Trade experts have predicted that the first day collection might go approx 12-16 crores. Film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi said, “It’s a word-of-mouth film in genre, not a commercial masala entertainer. So, it’ll purely have its box office run on the merit of its content, and thankfully, revolves around a premise that’s very universal in appeal – the story of India through the story of a person can potentially touch the hearts of a lot of people all over the country. I think, Laal Singh Chaddha will possibly open in Rs 12 Crore nett range, and after that it’ll be based on its merit. There’s Raksha Bandhan (the festival), Independence Day, the whole weekend, and these factors can really augment the business.”
As of now for the opening day, Laal Singh Chaddha has sold around 30,000 tickets across India. The ticket sale collection of the film so fare range Rs. 75 lakhs. With just 2 days remaining to release the movie is expected to do an all India advance of Rs. 5 crores for the opening day with weekend advance booking in the range of Rs. 8 crores. The Aamir Khan Productions film is arriving in cinemas on 11th August along with Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan.
