Aamir Khan Hints Doing A Punjabi Comedy Film?

At the trailer launch event of Carry On Jatta 3, Aamir Khan expressed that he wants to do a Punjabi comedy film.

Aamir Khan attended the grand trailer launch of the upcoming Punjabi comedy film Carry On Jatta 3 on Tuesday. The event was held in Mumbai where the film’s entire cast and crew marked their presence. Actor Aamir Khan and comedian Kapil Sharma were the chief guests who launched the trailer of the film.

During the event, Aamir Khan was asked why Bollywood A-listers of this generation don’t prefer to be a part of Punjabi films, unlike the yesteryear superstars like Prithviraj Kapoor, Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha who did some Punjabi films in their career. To this, Aamir replied, “I need to like the story first. And if it is in another language but I love the story, then I will learn the language and do the film. I think, at that time, Punjabi was the first language of those stars, like Yusuf sahab and Raj Kapoor sahab used to speak Punjabi. So, it was natural for them to do a Punjabi film, I think. For us, it will require extra effort. Punjabi is not my first language. But I would love to do it. Sameer Ji, please write a nice comedy film for me. I really like doing comedy. I did Andaz Apna Apna. I am very interested in doing comedy.”

Punjabi actor, singer and film producer Gippy Grewal then revealed that Aamir had previously expressed interest in doing a role in Punjabi film. Gippy said, “He earlier also asked us if we have any role for him. But we’ll plan something special for him.”

To this, Aamir added, “Yes, I would definitely love to do it.”

Aamir Khan was last seen in Bollywood film Lal Singh Chadha. In the film, Aamir played the role of a Punjabi boy. Lal Singh Chadha is the official remake of Tom Hanks’ classic Hollywood film Forrest Gump.
