Bollywood star Vikrant Massey on Monday announced his retirement from the film industry through a social media post. However, he later clarified the air with the announcement not being a ‘permanent retirement’ but a ‘long-break’ from career. While the actor disappointed fans at first and regained their support after clarifications, several big stars and film makers have also reacted to the story. Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, who is also a leading member of the parliament representing All India Trinamool Congress Party, reacted upon Vikrant Massey’s decision of taking a break from his career. Addressing Vikrant as one of the smart kids from the new generation, Sinha said that there is no insecurity in Vikrant’s mind.

In a latest conversation with Zoom, the actor-turned-politician compared actors like Vikrant to the actors from the older generation. Recalling his golden days, Sinha said that during his times, he never thought of taking a break. He’d do three shifts a day, shooting non-stop, running from one studio to another carrying the passion within. “Sometimes I would forget which film I was shooting for”, he added.
Further Shatrughan Sinha hailed the 12th Fail actor’s decision for pausing a little before he moves ahead in his career. In his viewpoint, “Aaj kal be bachche zyada samajhdaar hain. They know where to stop and when to resume again. Unn mein insecurity nahin hai. We thought, out of sight out of mind”. Besides Shatrughan Sinha, filmmaker Aditya Nimbalkar who recently performed the direction for Vikrant Massey’s OTT film ‘Sector 36’ came out in his support, saying that “In a day and age where everyone is chasing box office numbers, views, and trends. If he has decided to take a break, spend time with his family and recharge himself, all power to him. And whenever he is good and ready, I’m sure he will be back ready to restart.”
The news of Massey’s long-break from career came out as a shock to many fans, that included his own friends from the industry as well. Although, there was a certain section seen supporting him for the decision, many also expressed disappointment on the decision.
