70th National Film Awards 2024 Full Winners List: Kantara, Attam, Thiruchitrabalam, Unnchai Wins Big!

70th National Film Awards 2024 winners revealed, celebrating the best of Indian cinema from 2022! Full list below.

In a grand live event, the jury announced the winners of the 70th National Film Awards 2024, celebrating films released in 2022. Among the notable winners were Attam, Vaalvi, Ponniyan Selvan: Part I, Kantara and others, showcasing the diverse talent in Indian cinema. The prestigious awards, which honor excellence across Indian film industries, include 27 categories in the Feature Film section, 15 categories in the Non-Feature Film section, and 2 categories for Best Writing on Cinema.

The announcement was made at the National Media Center in New Delhi on Friday by the chairpersons of the respective juries: Rahul Rawail for the Feature Film Jury, Nila Madhab Panda for the Non-Feature Film Jury and Gangadhar Mudalair for the Best Writing on Cinema Jury. The 70th National Film Awards 2024 recognized outstanding achievements in Indian cinema, making it a highly anticipated event in the industry.

In the major categories, Rishabh Shetty was awarded Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for his dynamic performance in Kantara. The Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) was a tie, with Nithya Menen winning for Thiruchitrambalam and Mansi Parekh for Kutch Express. The Best Feature Film honor went to the Malayalam film Attam, while Sooraj Barjatya won Best Director for his work on Uunchai.

The regional awards were also a highlight, with Karthikeya 2 winning Best Telugu Film, Vaalvi securing Best Marathi Film, and Gulmohar being named Best Hindi Film. Manoj Bajpayee received a special mention for his performance in Gulmohar, further cementing his status as one of India’s finest actors.

A total of 309 feature films in 32 languages were submitted for the 70th National Film Awards 2024, along with 130 non-feature films from 17 languages.

The awards ceremony will be held on a date yet to be announced, where the best Indian films produced in 2022 will be honored by President Droupadi Murmu. The announcement of the 2022 winners was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To stay on schedule, the jury has indicated that the awards for films released in 2023 will be announced by the end of this year.
