Love Aaj Kal (Feb 2020) – This movie Love Aaj Kal (2020) starring Kartik and Sara in leading roles, was the sequel of ace director Imtiaz Ali’s hit film Love Aaj Kal (2009) that starred Saif and Deepika in lead roles and was released before the COVID 19 pandemic hit India but the movie failed in recreating that magic which the original film did and was a big time dud / flop movie declared by audiences itself where IMDB gave it a rating of 5 / 10.
2. Sadak 2 (August 2020, Disney Hotstar) – Another much awaited movie of 2020 was Sadak 2 which entirely got badly slammed and trolled on social media and everywhere else due fans dislike of Alia, Mahesh and others due to the entire nepotism versus talent hot topic being reopened everywhere post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in June 2020. The storyline was also so badly written and this movie was touted to be veteran film maker Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial venture which didn’t really impress the audiences and fans where in the end, IMDB gave it the lowest ever rating of 1.1 on 10.
3. Coolie No 1 (Amazon Prime Video, December 2020) – Another much awaited movie of 2020 which was supposed to create magic like Dil Bechara and Ludo did, was Coolie No 1 starring Varun and Sara in leading roles wherein this one is a remake of the cult and classic 1995 superhit film Coolie No 1 that originally starred Govinda and Karisma in leading roles. The remake movie was really bad with the storyline being too rushed and messy and apart from the colors and modern touch the movie is not even worth a watch digitally. It was criticized and slammed by the audiences and fans so much that even IMDB ultimately gave it a 2.3 out of 10 rating where nothing could save and salvage the movie from being a Christmas 2020 disaster.
4. Indoo Ki Jawaani (December 2020) – One of the first movies that released in theatres post pandemic lockdown opened up in India, Indoo Ki Jawaani was a romantic action comedy movie starring Kiara and Aditya in leading roles where a lot of hype was created around the film for its songs and original storyline, ultimately the film after releasing in theatres, could not get the audiences and fans to the theatres because of the love jihad angle which was seen in the film and was bashed on social media platforms by netizens as well, which resulted in the film becoming a big dud and flop movie with IMDB rating this film 1.4 out of 10.
5. Ghost Stories (Netflix, Jan 2020) – Like Lust Stories which was loved by audiences for its fresh and novel slice of life real love stories, the four acclaimed directors yet again came together this time around to present the tale of ghosts and spirits in Ghost Stories which even after having a unique and aptly selected ensemble star cast could not salvage this digital film from becoming a flop film of 2020 where even IMDB gave it a rating of 4.3 out of 10.

Laxmii (Disney Hotstar, November 2020) – Much awaited movie of 2020 was Laxmii which had Akshay Kumar playing the double role for first time in life wherein he plays the role of Asif and a transgender Laxmii and Kiara’s character name was Priya which again sparked the Love Jihad controversy to another level wherein all fans and social media users started massively trending and boycotting Laxmii along with trolling the film and Akshay Kumar for doing such a bad film which itself is a hindi remake of the Tamil hit original film Muni Kanchana 2 (2011), but due to bad story and fans anger along with netizens huge trends for this film being banned and trolled, the film was a big Diwali 2020 disaster wherein IMDB gave this a rating of 2.3 out of 10.
