During a Levis fashion show, Akshay Kumar displayed the new launch of the denim brand. He then walked up to his wife Twinkle Khanna who then popped open his jeans. The bold act of unhooking and unzipping pants of Akshay sparked controversy. While some found it fun and flirty a group of moral policers found it offensive and logged a complaint against the couple.
- Rustom Costume Controversy
Akshay Kumar chose to auction the naval uniform he wore in the movie Rustom in order to raise money for animal welfare. People took it offensive claiming he was tagging costume as a real uniform. The actor later defended stating it was planned for a good cause.
- Good Newwz controversy
In Good Newwz there is a scene where a man says, “Mere Bache Ka Naam Hola Ram Hai Kyunki Wo Holi Pe Paida Hua Tha,” to which Akshay Kumar replied, “Acha Hua Aapka Bacha Lohri Pe Paida Nahi Hua.” This didn’t go well and twitterati slammed Kumar for disrespecting Lord Rama.

Akshay Kumar appeared in the Vimal pan masala ad and as a result, received a lot of backlash for endorsing tobacco. He featured in the advertisement with Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan. After massive trolling on social media, the Sooryavanshi actor decided to step down and break out of the deal. He apologized to his fans and stated to not promote tobacco further.

The actor is still trolled for his Canadian citizenship, he is Indian born naturalised Canadian. During the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Akki called for a controversy when he didn’t cast a vote. Addressing the same, he took to his Twitter and wrote, “I really don’t understand the unwarranted interest and negativity about my citizenship. Akshay Kumar’s inappropriate comment on Mallika Dua sparked controversy. On “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” show he allegedly said, “AAP bell bajao, main aapko batata hu” to Mallika. His comment didn’t go well for Mallika’s father Vinod who demanded an apology from the actor.
