Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Shilpa Shetty starrer film ‘Baazigar’ has completed 28 years of its release. It was a commercially successful film of the year 1993 and gained the title of a cult film over the years.
Let us know some interesting facts about the Abbas Mustan directorial Baazigar:
1- Kajol (18) and Shilpa Shetty (17) were teenagers when the film was shot and released.
2- Filmmaker duo Abbas Mustan wanted Sridevi in the dual role but then chose two new faces Kajol and Shilpa Shetty as the audience would not accept a new actor Shahrukh Khan who plays villain killing a well-established actress Sridevi.
3- The film was initially offered to Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn. All of them rejected it and then film finally went to Shahrukh Khan, who was a new face in the industry.
4- Baazigar marked Shilpa Shetty’s debut in the Bollywood industry.
5- It was Shahrukh Khan and Kajol’s first film together who later turned out to be the best on-screen couple. They were then seen together in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, My Name Is Khan and Dilwale.
